Try the following if you are having issues with audio and sound on your Chromebook.
Make sure the sound isn't muted or turned down in the app or video you are accessing.
- Many audio / video apps and websites have sound settings.
- Locate this setting in the app / video you are accessing.
- Check that the sound settings are on, the volume is turned up, and it is accessing the correct sound device.
Make sure the sound isn't muted in your Chromebook settings.
- At the bottom right, select the time.
- Adjust the volume using the slider.
Change the sound input or output source.
- At the bottom right, select the time.
- Next to the volume slider, select the right arrow.
- Choose the audio device.
Unplug audio devices from your Chromebook.
You may have headphones or speakers plugged into the device that the sound connected to instead.
Or, try resetting your Chromebook by performing a hard reset.
- Turn off your Chromebook.
- Then, press and hold the Refresh + Power buttons at the same time for about 10 seconds.
- Release buttons once the system starts back up.
Check to see if your sound now works.
