Chesapeake Public Schools has implemented a new transportation routing system for the 2025-2026 school year. The Stopfinder App uses the global positioning system (GPS) technology already installed on our bus fleet to locate and track your child’s school bus.
Stopfinder will send an email to families to activate their Stopfinder account. Families who did not receive a Stopfinder activation email should complete a request in Let'sTalk, and contact their child's school for route information. Access for parents or guardians is only granted to those that have permission from the school transportation department.
With Stopfinder, parents will:
- Know the schedule of your child’s bus.
- Receive push notifications related to your child’s bus schedule.
- Track multiple buses, a great feature if your children don’t ride the same bus.
- Know exactly when your children arrive at school or at home.
- Enjoy two-way communication with your child's school.
Download and Install the Stopfinder App
- Activate Your Subscription: Click the link provided in the invitation email.
- Install the App: Download the free Stop finder app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
- View and Share Schedules: View your student's schedule and share with caregivers.

Creating GeoAlerts
With GeoAlerts, create alert zones anywhere on the map to receive GeoAlert notifications when the bus arrives or departs from the alert zone.
The process for creating a GeoAlert is straightforward:
- Tap students schedule to open map view.
- Tap the GeoAlert button located at the bottom of the screen.
- Select Add GeoAlert from the menu. Name the new GeoAlert and Save.
- Position the circular alert zone on the map and use the slider to adjust its size.
Select Arrives or Departs to send the alert.
Stopfinder FAQ's for Parents
I have not received and email invitation to subscribe to Stopfinder.
Please confirm that your email address is correct in ParentVUE. You may need to Complete your Online Verification to update your contact information. Next, submit a request via the Let's Talk Platform or contact your child's school.
The invitation email has expired.
The invitation activation link has a time limit for security purposes. Please contact the Transportation Department to request a new invitation be sent.
The bus stop information is incorrect on the Stopfinder app.
A data entry error may exist in the district's routing software. Contact the Transportation Department with the correct information.
