ChromeVox Screen Reader Chrome Extension on Chromebooks

Access & Set Up ChromeVox Settings

1. Click the time in bottom right corner and select the Settings gear icon.
   
    
2. In the Search Bar, enter ChromeVox.
   Or from the sidebar, select Accessibility > Text-to-Speech
   
    
3. Select to toggle ChromeVox and Select-to-Speak to the "on" position. 
   
    
4. Adjust your preferred settings for each. For example, select Open ChromeVox settings and toggle "on" the options for "Automatically read page after it finishes loading" and "Speak text under the mouse"I, etc.
   
    
5. Close out ChromeVox Options window after customizing your settings.
    

Turn Off ChromeVox

Once you have enabled ChromeVox, you can easily turn off this feature from the time menu settings.

1. Click the time in bottom right corner and click on Accessibility.
   
    
2. Select to toggle the button "off" for ChromeVox and Select-to-speak.
   
    
3. To turn it back on, follow the previous steps for access & setup.
