Users have the ability to blur their backgrounds with Google Meet when using the Chrome browser.
Before Entering a Meeting
Click on the blur icon in the bottom right corner, then select the option to Blur your background.
While in a Meeting
If you have already joined a meeting, find background blur under Settings (3 dots icon), then click on Change background. 
Select the option to Blur your background.
