Create Your New Parent Account
New CPS parents must first go to the Register Online Enrollment site from the CPS Website to see the documents and information needed for the registration process.
When you have everything, click on the Access our Online Registration platform button to access the Online Registration Account Access Site.
From the Online Registration Account Access page, click on Create a New Account button.
You will be asked 4 questions to verify that you are a new CPS parent. Once verified, you will receive an email from Synergy to set up a password for your new ParentVUE account.
Once the ParentVUE account is created, you can log in to start the registration process. This will be your ParentVue account to access your parent portal after your student is enrolled into a school.
NOTE: If you had a ParentVue account in another school district, that account only works for that specific district. You need to create a new ParentVue account for our district by doing this process.
Begin the Online Registration Process
After you have created your account and set your password, you are ready to begin the Online Registration process. The Online Registration page will appear automatically for you to start the process.
The Welcome page explains the different types of registrations we have.
At the bottom of the WELCOME page, you will see buttons for each option. Be sure you select the correct registration AND the correct year. For example, if you are trying to register for the next school year, make sure you select the correct registration button for the next school year. Parents of most PK-12th grade students will use the "New Student Registration" button.
Next, you will see the Introduction page that explains the registration process in depth.
You will be asked to do an electronic signature, which is your name as it appears in the top right corner. Type your name to match in the electronic signature box.
At the bottom of each page, you will see blue buttons to "Save and Continue" to move through the pages.
This will move you through each section of the online registration that you see on the left side. Please don't skip any buttons. You will see a green checkmark if you have completed each section.
The Online Registration screens will walk you through the process with guided questions for these sections:
- Family
- Parent/Guardian
- Emergency
- Students
- Documents
If you don't have time to finish all of the pages or sections, you can log out on any page and it will save your progress for you to return later.
When you return, you will see the Online Registration you were working on. Just click "Resume Student Registration" (or the type of registration you selected). Then click "Save and Continue".
On the Documents page, you will be required to upload documents for the information we need from you.
Important: Please DO NOT upload junk documents to get past this page. This will only SLOW DOWN the process of your student getting enrolled. The school will return the registration back to you to provide the correct documents. It will take longer for your student to get approved. Just wait until you get all of the required documents BEFORE you submit your registration!
NOTE: If you have documents that are more than one page long (such as health immunizations, physicals, or the "School Entrance Health Form" that is needed for all new students), it helps to use a mobile device (such as a phone or tablet) to upload those documents. When you click the Upload button, it will let you scan the first page. Then you can click "Add page" to continue scanning additional pages. The system knows if you are on a device with a camera that allows this to work. However, if you are using a computer or laptop, you will only be able to upload one page or file for each one.
When everything is complete in the registration, please review the information you entered. Then click Submit. This will send the registration to the appropriate school or department. It will take time for them to review your information. Please be patient as the school or department reviews the registration before you hear anything.
