As part of our ongoing commitment to network security, Chesapeake Public Schools (CPS) requirement of multi-factor authentication (MFA) for all staff via OneLogin, began during the 2021-2022
academic school year.
Using multi-factor authentication (MFA) with a login ensures users are who they say they are when accessing their account and CPS systems. This extra layer of security requires employees to prove their identity in multiple ways, thereby better protecting our systems and data, while providing easy, secure access to CPS resources.
MFA combines the use of two or more independent credentials such as:
- something the user knows (a password)
- something the user has (cell phone verification)
- something the user is (biometric verification)
Using MFA provides multiple layers of authentication to prevent unauthorized users from accessing your account.
